Xinjiang is rich in cotton resources. In recent years, with the support of many preferential policies of the government, the textile and garment industry in Xinjiang has further improved the digitalization and intellectualization level of technical equipment, promoted industrial transformation and upgrading, and realized the green and sustainable development of the textile industry.

In the production workshop of a textile company in Shawan County, Xinjiang, workers only need to press the button to complete the manipulation of the automatic spinning production line.

This year is the twenty-third year that Jiang Xuemei has been engaged in the textile industry. She told reporters that before realizing automation, there were 8 workers per day in the automatic workshop, with an average daily output of only 0.12 tons. After the automation system was replaced, only 4 of her equipment could be controlled by herself, and the average daily output reached 3.2 tons.

In recent years, Xinjiang's textile and garment industry has problems such as uneven industrial development, low industrial chain development, and intensified competition among similar products in primary links. In accordance with the requirements of the state, Xinjiang has implemented the strategy of "inputting, adjusting, reducing staff and increasing efficiency". In the past two years, the government has successively introduced supporting policies to guide textile enterprises to speed up structural adjustment and transformation and upgrading, forming a chain of cotton textile industry, phasing out the scale of less than 30 thousand spindles, and equipment backward cotton spinning capacity, and speeding up the development of intellectualization and greening.

In Bazhou Korla economic and Technological Development Zone, an intelligent dyeing company independently developed small water dyeing process, so that enterprises in the "ecological textile" in the forefront of the industry.

Liu Qingchun, general manager of a dyeing company in Xinjiang: the traditional dyeing process is 115 tons per ton of yarn, and our tonnes of yarn can reach 35 tons. According to the standard workshop with an annual output of 20 thousand tons, each standard workshop will save 25 million 480 thousand yuan a year and reduce the discharge of sewage by 15 million 360 thousand tons.

As of November this year, Xinjiang's textile and garment industry has invested about 170000000000 yuan in fixed assets and 18 million 90 thousand cotton in textile production. Weaving, clothing and apparel, home textiles, knitting and other industries have begun to take shape. Textile and garment enterprises have reached 3141 and nearly 600 thousand people have been employed.
