1. The source of waste textiles

There are 3 main sources of waste textiles: one is the waste silk and residue in the production process, the leftovers in the garment making process; the two is the discarded clothes, bedding, curtains, sofa covers, carpets, etc. three is the waste plastic with polyester bottles and other useful value.

The comprehensive utilization rate of waste textiles in China is very low every year, and most of the old clothes are used as garbage to landfill or incinerate.

Two. Recycling of waste textiles.

Before waste textiles are reused, they should be pre washed, rinsed, dried and sterilized.

2. Fiber separation

Most of the recovered waste products contain a variety of fiber components, so fiber separation is needed before processing and utilization.

The most common textiles are made of polyester fibers and cotton fibers. We can use the method of decomposing polyester to remove cotton fibers, or use the viscose method or the copper ammonia method and the acid to degrade the cotton fibers, then filter the polyester fibers and separate the cotton fibers.

For a variety of synthetic fiber blended fabrics, it can be crushed into water and centrifuges are used to separate the crushed textiles.

Three. Methods of processing and utilizing waste textiles

At present, there are mainly 4 ways to make use of waste textiles: mechanical method, chemical method, physical method and heat energy method.

1. Mechanical method

Mechanical method can directly process waste textile waste chips, or directly processed into yarn regenerated fibers.

Over the past few years, the technology of ring spinning, friction spinning and rotor spinning has been mature in textile industry, which has effectively processed the fibers in the recovered waste and guaranteed the quality of the yarns.

For example, the separated waste cotton and noil should be used as raw materials for rotor yarn.

Through the treatment of waste cotton and silk, special industrial base cloth was developed, which provided important guarantee for the recycling and clean production of textile fibers.

2. Chemical method

Polyester fiber is the most important component in textiles. Chemical methods are used to degrade the polymers in synthetic fibers and convert them into monomers. Then these monomers are further processed into new chemical fiber materials.

At present, the treatment methods for such waste products are hydrolysis, alcoholysis, pyrolysis and supercritical.

3. Physical method

The physical method can not destroy the chemical structure of polymer, and do not change its internal composition, and make it conform to the quality of textile raw materials through relevant treatment.

4. Heat energy method

The thermal energy method is mainly to pform the heat generated from the waste textiles into energy, and the main application area is thermal power generation.

Most of the textile waste is buried or burned, rarely used as waste resources.

Because many chemical fiber textiles are not easy to decompose, they cause serious pollution to the land after burial. After burning, a lot of poisonous gases are produced, resulting in air pollution.

When old clothes and old fabrics are no longer discarded at will, they will not be sold for the two time. Instead, they will generate clean and safe raw materials through environmental protection. This will save a lot of fossil fuels and protect the environment, and can also stimulate employment opportunities in many industrial chains.
