In The First Half Of This Year, China's Home Textile Exports Gradually Narrowed, With A Slight Decrease Of 0.38% Compared To The Same Period Last Year.

In 2019, 1-6 months, the export of household textiles in China was 12 billion 570 million US dollars, a slight decrease of 0.38% over the same period last year. In the same period, export volume dropped by 0.04% and export average price decreased by 0.34%. Overall, domestic textile exports remained stable in the first half of the year, and exports fell by 2.1 percentage points lower than the overall export volume of textile and clothing.


Analysis of major export categories:


The export of bedding, curtains and kitchen textiles continued to grow, and towel export declined significantly.


The main export commodities of home textiles are bedding, accounting for about 44% of the total exports, followed by carpet, blankets, towels, curtains and so on, accounting for about 10% of home textile exports.


In 1-6 months, the export of bedding, curtains and kitchen textiles increased by 2.1%, 4.2% and 7.4%, and the exports of carpets and blankets dropped by 5.8% and 0.7%, respectively. Towel export dropped by 12.2%, which is rare in recent years, mainly due to the larger demand gap of cotton in the first quarter and the rising cost of cotton.
